Rotational Molding

Rotational molding, also referred to as rotomolding or rotocast, is a thermoplastic process for producing hollow parts by placing powder resin into a hollow mold. The mold then spins on two different axis in an oven until the powder resin melts and coats the inner wall. The mold is then cooled and the part is removed. This process can be used to produce parts in various sizes, shapes, and complexity.

Advantages of Rotational Molding

  • Low initial tooling costs
  • Strength and durability of parts
  • Short delivery schedules
  • Consistent wall thickness
  • Design flexibility
  • Prototype or production capabilities
